Dr. Kindman Dr. Kindman grew up on a farm, and he knows the joys and the hardships of the farming life. Heart disease has touched him personally. His father died suddenly from a heart attack when Dr. Kindman was 17. It is thus no surprise that he is now a cardiologist who emphasizes the involvement of both the patient and the family in choosing plans of treatment. He knows that heart disease is a family matter. Dr. Kindman attended college at Brandeis University outside of Boston, MA, and then graduate school at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. He attended the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, graduating in 1983. His medical internship and residency were at the New York Hospital-Cornell University Medical Center in New York, and at Stanford University in California. He was on the Faculty of the Cardiology Division at Stanford from 1989-1993, when he was invited to join the Cardiology Faculty at Duke University Medical Center. He opened his private practice in April 1996. Throughout his training, Dr. Kindman has been fortunate to work closely with many internationally renowned scholars, and to contribute to the advancement of clinical and basic biomedical research. He has published many peer-reviewed articles in prestigious biomedical research journals, and continues to use this background to refine the care he and his staff deliver to their patients. Dr. Kindman has achieved the highest level of certification available for physicians in the specialty of Cardiology. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Subspecialty board in Cardiovascular Disease. In recognition of his contributions to clinical and basic biomedical science, and his clinical achievement, he has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Cardiology is growing more rapidly than ever. To take advantage of proven advances in diagnostics and therapeutics, Dr. Kindman is an active participant in national meetings. He uses proven state of the art methodologies to provide his patients with the best possible outcomes. Finally, he has a close network of colleagues in Durham, Raleigh and Chapel Hill to provide expertise in areas complementary to his own. |
